As Ireland approaches the 1st anniversary of the enactment of the 2017 Sexual offences Act next month, March 2018, APT looks forward to reading the review of the first year and hopes that there will be an increase in the prosecution of those who fuel the trafficking and sexual exploitation of others.

The legislation targets an end to demand and makes buying sex illegal in Ireland. However, according to Dublin-based SPACE International, brothels are still ‘’operating openly’’  and ‘’notorious pimps are still advertising women as merchandise on their pimping websites.’’
