read moreThe DASATT Annual Conference 2018 theme of New Thinking on Trafficking promises to inspire conversations and collaborations, in the hope of action against the push factors which contribute to Human Trafficking.
Commencing at 09.30 Registration, the Conference will begin with an opening message from President Michael D. Higgins, the Conference begins with a brief overview from Dr. Gillian Wylie, assistant Professor in International Peace Studies, TCD, on ”The Causes of Human Trafficking.” This will be followed by input from Sean Cassin, ofm, CEO DASATT, on ”Trafficking and the Cost of Development.”
Klara Skrivánková, UK and European programme Manager and Senior Private sector advisor at the NGO anti-Slavery International, will talk about ”Trafficking for Forced Labour in Cannabis Cultivation.” Jane O’Connell, Legal Officer at the Migrants Rights Centre, Ireland, will speak about ”Seeking Justice for Trafficked Workers in Ireland,” followed by input from Mike Brosowski, on ”Safe and Sound: Preventing Child Trafficking in Vietnam.” Mike is CEO of Blue Dragon’s Children’s Foundation, an NGO working to support street children, disabled children and child-victims of trafficking in Vietnam.
Preceded by closing discussions, the Conference will conclude at 13:00.
