‘’The training was excellent and I was very glad I got the opportunity to be part of it.
There were 26 Sisters participating, the majority from Africa and South America.
We worked Monday to Thursday 9am to 6pm and 9am to 1pm on Friday.
My understanding of advocacy was expanded: we actually worked on projects, from concept to conclusion.
My group worked on a project brought by a Sister from Malawi, which consisted of training a group of Sisters to teach organic farming to groups of people,
as a pilot programme. We had to plan the project in detail – who, what, where, when, with a timeline and ongoing monitoring and evaluation.
The experts guided us all along the way.
We ended up with sheets of paper and we presented the project on Friday morning.
During the week we were also introduced to ways of raising awareness, such as drama, posters, and art installations.
We will receive a PowerPoint of the whole process, which will enable me to share it with the group.’’
