For the 3rd year, Our Lady of Apostles Congregation (OLA) & the Society of African Missions (SMA) convened a webinar to consider the latest TIP report (published 24 June 2024) and specifically the chapter on Ireland and its recommendations therein. The title of the webinar was ‘’Spotlight on Human Trafficking-2024 Trafficking in Persons’ Report.’’
The webinar took place from 19:30 – 20:30, Wednesday 3 July and was moderated by Jon McGeady, CEO Social justice Ireland.
Tune in to the recording below to hear Gerard Forde, SMA Justice officer, Liz Byrne, IBVM, & Anne Kelleher, APT Ireland Communications person, consider what the report has to say with regards to Ireland’s standing, under the three headings of Human Trafficking ‘’Prosecution,’ ‘Protection’ and ‘Prevention.’ Regrettably, David Lohan, author of ‘At Freedom’s Crossroads : Making Sense of Modern Slavery,’ was unable to join on the night due to unforeseen circumstances but already David is looking forward to joining us next year.
Thanks to Michelle Robertson, Communications Officer with our Lady of Apostles for running the webinar and ensuring that everything ran as smoothly as possible on the night!
