Prayer for Women trapped by Traffickers

Lord, you know the crushing pain of my helpless situation
– alone, dispirited, abused, humiliated, dehumanised.
I cannot find words to describe how I feel.
I turn to you for inner strength.

I know that even the darkest hour can be turned around
with the help of my sisters who pray and
act with compassion towards me.
Hear the cry of my heart, for me and my sisters.

We pray for understanding and the courage to act.

Lord, we pray for all women whose dignity and human rights
have been violated by the scourge of human trafficking.
Give us some understanding of the fear, desolation and
desperation experienced by these women who are now in
captivity and whose lives have been shattered
as a result of the lust and greed of others.

We pray for the eradication of this global evil.
We pray for the perpetrators of this heinous crime.
May they come to recognise that they are not only injuring
their victims but also inflicting harm upon themselves.

Lord, grant that all who are suffering may experience the
power of your healing love. Amen
